The history of Randsverk
In the early 1930s Lene and Per Vassdokken established a small café and lodging for the first cars driving through Randsverk.
In the late 1960s the next generation continued the establishment after their parents. The café and fuel station were both run by Ivar and Kirsti Vassdokken, while Mari (born Vassdokken) and Kjell Rugsveen ran the kiosk and camping.
Both the café and camping were expanded several times in the 1970s and 1980s.
Today’s hosts and third generation Nina (born Rugsveen) and Peter Brag has been running Randsverk since 1999.
The café has been redone at the original place from the 1930s. The kiosk has been expanded to a bigger shop with a wider selection of groceries. The camping has been expanded and renewed several times. In 2014 we built new sanitary facilities and in 2020 we built ten new cabins.
With its location and all it can offer, Randsverk has been established as a natural stopover for both tourists and locals.
