Jotunheimen – Besseggen

With over 40000 visitors per season, Besseggen is one of the most popular hikes in Norway. The tour lasts 6-7 hours. The normal route starts by boat from Gjendeosen to Memurubu and then leads back on foot across the Besseggen.

Gjende is 984 meters above sea level, while the highest point on Besseggen lies 1743 meters above sea level.

Warm clothes, good shoes / boots, snacks and beverages as well as sunglasses, sun cream and map / compass must not be forgotten.

From Randsverk, it takes under 25 minutes to Gjendebåten. The boat runs several times daily with the first departure at 07.45 in the summer season from about 10.6. till 1.10.
